SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – October 27, 2007 – Junior quarterback Dan Juvan passed for 308 yards and a career-high-tying four touchdowns to lead the Ithaca College football team to a 48-21 Empire 8 conference victory over Springfield College this afternoon at SC’s rain-soaked Amos Alonzo Stagg Field.
With the victory, Ithaca is now 6-2 overall, and 3-2 in the Empire 8. Ithaca thus clinches its 37th straight winning season, the second-longest such streak on any level in college football. Springfield, meanwhile, falls to 3-5 overall, 1-3 in conference play. The best SC can do now is to finish .500, but must win its final two games in order to do so.
Juvan’s TD passes were of 9, 58, 11, and 20 yards. The junior from Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. was 19-of-27 for 308 yards and four TDs with one interception on the afternoon.
Despite the loss, one special note occurred for Springfield as senior QB Chris Sharpe (Derry, N.H.) ran for 64 yards and passed for another 44, producing 108, and setting a Springfield College career total offense record. He now has 4,957 yards, breaking Ryan Sylvia’s (2001-2004) all-time mark of 4,950. [Info taken from the Springfield College website]
