SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 14, 2007 – Springfield College sophomore attack Jake Beebe (Sudbury, Mass.) led all players with eight points of offense on three goals and five assists as the Pride powered past Babson College on Saturday afternoon, 19-9, in Pilgrim Lacrosse League action at Benedum Field. SC remains perfect in the Pilgrim League with today’s victory, improving to 5-0 on the season and 5-7 overall. The Beavers of Babson College fall to 5-5 overall on the year and 3-2 in league play. SC has three more Pilgrim League contests left to close out the regular-season; at WNEC on Wednesday (Apr. 18); at Wheaton College on Saturday (Apr. 21); and home against Clark University on Wednesday, April 25th.
Pride freshman attack Joe Heney (Plainview, N.Y.) added three goals and three assists for six total points of offense in this afternoon’s win. Junior midfielders Greg Welch (Peabody, Mass.) and Tyler Montgomery (Brunswick, Me.), and freshman attack Kyle Gable (Somers, Conn.) each chipped in with two goals. In recording his fourth victory of the season, senior goalkeeper Kyle Cloutier (South Hadley, Mass.) made an impressive 17 saves in 48 minutes (47:09) of action. (Info from SC website)
